Double Masking No More?
The traditional N95 mask was not enough, neck gaiters were quickly deemed ineffective, and then the CDC recommended double masking with a cloth mask and an N95 mask.
But recent studies conducted by health experts resulted in data showing that the effectiveness of latex gloves is superior to that of cloth gloves at preventing permeation of particles coming in contact with the skin. This finding now has the CDC reconsidering their recommendation on double masking. They are now once again considering a single mask solution.
Before this finding, the CDC was originally considering advice from these experts that the public should just hold their breath when in public, and or when social distancing is not possible. However the new consideration has companies like 3M rallying after hours as latex masks looks to be the most promising solution.
Other non-publicly traded companies are conflicted, specifically the pillow industry, with some in the industry finding the recommendation to be a great step forward, ans some finding it to be to “detrimentally life changing to society”.
Mike Lindell of My Pillow said, “This sounds like a major liability issue, what will we call it? My Last Pillow?”
